respect the elders
The last week assessment was considered well enough for me. Beside the new formation of auditees, the number of auditors involved were doubled from previous year, 6. Yeah, imagine that. Just like one on one interview. Fortunatelly I did not have to stay up ‘til 4 am this time. It came up with 12 findings. Hehehe…shame on me? Neah…I think that will make people learn their lesson. Unlike the Tangkuban Perahu story, management system cannot be built instantly. So start on working, people!!
There was one thing that intrested me. One of the auditors was a (very) senior auditor, both from her experienced and age. I tend not to mention her name here, but she is one of the best in her field. I googled her name, and it was mentioned as the author and translator for ‘a must have’ metallurgy handbook. She has two master degrees in engineering. She was also a dean in a technical faculty. Did not realize it at the first time, since I was too amazed by the fact that a woman by the age of my grandma (even her look was just like my grandma) still had the spirit and strenght to do her work, professionally.
At one side I am honoured by the fact that I was able to meet her, but on the other side it also makes me wonder of where the youngsters have gone. I mean, come on..from almost 250 millions people…there must be several young people who are experts in these field. She also stated these problems at the end of our audit session. Hmmm..what can I say…the truth is I don’t really like to work with a bunch of selfish stupid people with money on their heads, who don’t respect their elders, either. But hey..this is a national situation. Thank you for wishing me a success in the future, Maam. Really appreciate it. I hope I still can make a difference (without money on my head)
